The goal of this event is to assist all teams in preparing for the SkillsUSA State Leadership & Skills Conference in Great Falls, April 7-10. Check out the Montana SkillsUSA website for info about that. Last year, Alberton took a middle school team to SkillsUSA Nationals in Atlanta and received the Silver Medal at Nationals. With the experiences gained there, coaches Nathan Morris and Patrick Manson are joining Brian Boot (SkillsUSA advisor and robotics coach in Missoula, coach of former nationals team as well) as Technical Advisors for the Montana SLSC Robotics Urban Search and Rescue competition and rebuilding our state course to match the nationals field as closely as possible. It is our goal to increase the level of competitiveness at the state level by helping more teams to practice, develop, and prepare before the state competition.
We would love your feedback on how we can assist other schools and promote SkillsUSA and STEM across Montana.
Congratulations Mahlon and Varuna for taking Silver in the middle school division of the SkillsUSA NLSC Urban Search & Rescue Robotics National Championship in Atlanta! This was a tremendous accomplishment and especially incredible since this is the first time we've competed at the national level in robotics. Great job guys! Click here to read more.
Meet the Alberton Panther Robotics team! We're a group of dedicated students passionate about tackling real-world challenges through the exciting field of robotics. Our journey has taken us through the dynamic world of the First Tech Challenge (FTC), where we built our foundational knowledge of robotics design, engineering principles, and the power of teamwork. Building on that experience, we then dove into the more complex and realistic arena of the SkillsUSA Urban Search and Rescue Robotics competition. Here, we applied our skills to design and construct an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot. This involved navigating a simulated urban landscape, identifying, and safely 'disposing' of simulated ordnance – a demanding project that pushed our problem-solving abilities and engineering ingenuity to new heights. This challenging journey has been incredibly rewarding, fostering significant growth in our technical skills and collaborative spirit. We're thrilled to share our achievements and our passion for robotics with you!
